Product
D.O.R.C. works intensively with leading top surgeons. Their knowledge combined with a unique mix of talent for the development of new ideas, high design quality and a strong product philosophy, results in highly innovative products. These products are used for cataract, retina and combined surgery, and various related instrument innovations.
The goal
The goal of the animations is to inform and generate interest within a major target group of eye surgeons and nursing staff. The animations have multiple purposes as they have been used to launch the products, but also for both training and sales purposes. Therefore they needed to be instructional, informative and promotional.
Our solution
In our long term collaboration with D.O.R.C. we create animation videos that highlight the innovative features and give surgeons insight in the use of the system/products due to the right match between abstraction and realism. We continue to add to a complete package of assets for multiple platforms.
Final result
We ontwikkelden een compleet pakket assets voor meerdere platforms. Dit bevat een set animaties voor het EVA NEXUS™ system en op zichzelf staande animaties voor aanvullende producten zoals EVA AVETA™, EVA EQUIPHACO™ en EVA INICIO™.
process
The use of animation is a unique and innovative way in ophthalmology to match clinical accuracy with the end result. Real life footage is often used to show the instruction. Therefore, the biggest challenge was to work without references, the animations had to be created based on interpretations. We reflected on how it should be in real life and translated this into a 3d environment.
Outcomes
During the projects we worked closely with both the D.O.R.C. team and leading clinicians, who helped develop the products and advised us during the process of creating the animations. Their enthusiasm has led to continuous incoming requests on more elaborate variations for different purposes, e.g. training videos, printable stills, social shorts, presentation material etc. Therefore we continue to work on several projects.
