Pathé Thuis is a Dutch streaming service. Since 2012, Pathé Thuis has been offering the latest cinema films directly to the user's home. Users are provided from the biggest blockbusters to award-winning arthouse movies.

Product

Pathé Thuis's video on demand service is available on various devices, such as tablets, consoles, Smart TV and PC/laptop. From 2016, it became possible to also enjoy the latest movies on iOS and Android.

The goal

With the development of the app, several commercials were needed. In our long-term partnership with Pathé Thuis, we made commercials for both TV and cinema to introduce and promote the app to the target group.

Our solution

Since the launch of the video on demand service, we have developed several promotional productions for Pathé Thuis. Including an explanatory video for social media, the very first Pathé Thuis animated cinema commercial and we also made our television debut.

final result

We wanted to incorporate the experience of going to the cinema into the commercial. That is why the animation starts slowly and ends in a cinema-worthy climax with a surprising conclusion.

Pathé Thuis has the same recognizable identity as the Pathé brand, with the yellow color being the most prominent. The visual appearance of all commercials is in line with each other, giving the viewer the idea of being in a cinema through the use of photorealism, images and cinematography.

outcomes

Thanks to this new cinema commercial, the Pathé Thuis app download rate has increased by 75% and has been viewed more than a million times in theaters! Due to the success of the launch, supported by the animation, we were asked to also make an explainer animation. This is to show the user how the demand service works. The visuals were used to make various commercials.
